Dynamat was established in 1989, and is a privately held corporation located in the city of Hamilton, Ohio, in the United States. The company markets acoustic environmental solutions for a broad range of industries.
Dynamat Xtreme
Dynamat Xtreme is a heat‐resistant, aluminum-coated deadener that will prevent buzzing and cut noise rapidly. Due to its heat resistance and aluminum coating, you can install it in your car without worrying.
The material’s performance is optimized for temperatures ranging between 14 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 to +60 degrees Celsius). The material can also withstand extreme temperatures between -65 and +300 degrees Fahrenheit (-54 to +149 degrees Celsius) and is highly resistant to aging.
Dynamat Xtreme is very effective at isolating the cabin from external noise. The price is a bit higher than that of other sound-deadening materials from competitors.
However, it’s absolutely amazing does a good job of creating a more acoustically friendly environment for your car’s stereo system. Plus, its flexibility will allow you to use it in other ways, such as for home acoustics, appliances, computers, etc.
The installation is quite easy. You can use scissors or a knife to cut Dynamat to the desired size and shape before removing the release liner. Next, you should clean the area properly so it’s free from all dust, grease and moisture.
Next, take off the release liner and then press the mat firmly into place, using a Dynamat roller for the larger pieces. The roller reduces the risk of air pockets forming, which can reduce Dynamat’s sound‐damping capacity. Finish by covering all the seams and wiring the whole thing with Dynatape to ensure a professional look and finish.

SoundSkins products help create a more acoustically friendly environment for your car’s audio speakers. They also help cut down on road and tire noise, keeping unwanted sounds out of the cabin.
When it comes to thermal resistance and sound‐deadening, SoundSkins is very similar to Dynamat. It offers a reliable deadener that can insulate noise significantly. SoundSkins is very heat‐resistant, since it’s butyl‐based.
Soundskins uses high-quality foam and butyl, which are both waterproof, heat‐proof and long-lasting. The deadener is also coated with an adhesive, which you’ll need to keep the fit secure once you’ve applied it to a particular area. It’s completely safe to install in your car, and will be a cost-effective solution to your vehicle noise problems.
SoundSkins Pro Door Kit

Dynamat has a size of 36 square feet, so it’s a lot bigger than SoundSkins, and it also has dimensions of 21 x 13 x 3.5 inches (about 53 x 33 x 9 centimeters).

3. Thickness
This is one of the main things you should keep an eye out for when purchasing any soundproofing material. The thicker the material, the better it’ll be at absorbing unwanted noise.
In terms of thickness, Dynamat is 0.069 inches thick and weighs about 15 pounds. This is quite heavy in comparison to Soundskins, but even though Dynamat is heavier, it’s still light enough to keep your car light after installation.
SoundSkins weighs about 7.7 pounds and is 0.059″ thick, which is really decent.

Dynamat, again, is the clear winner here.
4. Effectiveness
When it comes to effectiveness, both products are amazing at getting the job done correctly. Both have self-adhesive and are water and heat-resistant, and the lifespans for both are incredibly high.

Dynamat appears to be doing a slightly better job at soundproofing, despite the fact that SoundSkins has a greater thickness. On the other hand, even though it’s a bit thicker, it seems that customers find it a lot easier to install than Dynamat. Both of these products are amazing, but the choice between them will ultimately be up to you.
